The Low Boy fork lowering kits are designed to shorten the stock Harley-Davidson forks by 1 1/4" or 2" (installer choice). We feel the Low Boy design kit, using longer rebound springs (sometimes called negative springs) and shorter/stiffer fork springs offers significant advantages over the conventional lowering method of using shorter fork tubes. The advantages are: the easy installation doesn't require complete disassembly of fork, ease of travel reduction choice (1 1/4" or 2"), quick converting back to stock travel. The springs are progressively wound to complement the shorter fork travel and still deliver a compliant ride, yet resist bottoming-out point is the same as stock which will maintain the clearance between the frame and the ground.
